ABOUT THE PROJECT

Synthetic address data built for real testing workflows

MockAddr is an independent tool for developers, QA engineers, product teams and localization teams. It prioritizes relationships between address fields, country formatting and clear data boundaries rather than producing unrelated random strings.

The problem we are solving

Many test-data generators randomize regions, cities and postcodes independently, creating combinations that cannot exist. Those records fill a form but do not meaningfully test regional dependencies, formatted output, imports or localized interfaces.

MockAddr retains region, representative locality, postcode, coordinates and time zone from one geography record, then creates synthetic street, building, contact and business fields. The result is useful for testing without bringing customer records into development environments.

Product principles

Four principles guide the product: address-first scope, connected fields, browser-local generation and reproducibility. Country coverage will grow, but a country is published only after administrative coverage, postal relationships, local formatting and fixed-sample tests are ready.

Who the tool is for

Developers can test forms, APIs and exports; QA teams can reproduce defects with seeds; design and product teams can build prototypes without customer information; localization teams can inspect field order, character sets and international formats. The tool is not intended for real residence, mail reception or identity-verification use.

Content and editorial review

Formatting sections on country tools prioritize postal-operator or UPU guidance. Coverage sections disclose import dates and versions; the methodology page explains sources and licensing. Content is maintained by the MockAddr Editorial Team, and issues can be reported through the site contact email.

Independence and disclaimer

MockAddr is not affiliated with USPS, Japan Post, Deutsche Post, PTT or GeoNames. Their names identify public data or formatting references only. A format-aware result does not mean that a complete address exists or can receive mail.
